For the second part of our trip to Wales we rode at Bike Park Wales (Link) which is not far from Merthyr Tydfil, it turned out that Danny Hart had heard we were riding there too so he turned up on his new Mondraker for the day to watch us ride. Since I had joined onto the trip a bit last minute with the guys I was too late to book a place on the uplift and was actually quite happy to spend the day pedaling up and down the hill, I ended up getting 7 runs in (and even one cheeky free lift up the hill on the uplift at the end of the day) and those guys got around 8 or 9.

We spent the night before in a local ‘Inn’ which was an interesting place, we paid for cheap, local accommodation and that is what we got, it certainly had some character though. The place was nice enough and very warm which is just what we wanted after being out in the cold all day however as we sat down in the pub ready to order a take away curry expecting a quiet few pints for the evening we were surprised when the place filled with an unusual gang that looked something like the cast of the local Welsh TV series ‘The Valleys‘  … only much worse followed by some rather loud house music and chart anthems on the pub sound system, so much for our quiet night. Luckily it only lasted for an hour or so when a taxi arrived and they all cleared off and we were able to enjoy our curry in peace (when it finally arrived)

Good day riding and was pretty knackered by the end of it. I ended up having quite some time to kill in Newport at the end of the day so went for a cycle round and spent quite a while eating my fish and chips, perfect post ride food on a cold wet day.

I was ever so helpful in putting the bikes on the car in the morning.

The last part of the ascent track, its rather exposed so even though it is flat it doesn't make for easy going.
