_75 To the cabin with Ana, Hommelvik to Drakstsjøen

14/03/15

Route map here

Ana came to stay for the weekend and some friends had organised a cabin trip to a cabin not that far from Trondheim so we decided to join them. I thought it would be a good idea to take the train halfway there and the ride from the train to the cabin which was about 15km (the website said 15km, my gps said more like 20km). Ana didn’t object but had plenty of questions, I later realised this was because she had not ridden a bike for the best part of 15 years and was quite nervous about it.

In the end she quite enjoyed herself, it wasn’t a case of getting too tired, more of remembering how to do some of the basics of riding a bike such as stopping and starting! She got it in the end and we had a very nice ride up through the quiet roads to the cabin where we spent the night with a bunch of my friends.
