After going out riding on my own on Friday, I asked Tarjei if he would like to go for a ride on Saturday, I had spoken to him a fair bit before and knew he rode a lot but had never actually rode with him before so though it was about time we did! At the last minute, late on Friday night Jan asked if I was going out for a ride so he joined us too.
When we met the weather was rather overcast but not too bad. We decided to do basically the same route I had done the day before since we knew the trails were clear, well at least possible to ride, not necessarily ‘clear’. The difference being, yesterday it was nice and sunny but today the weather came in. As we got to the top of the first trail the wind suddenly picked up really strong and the rain started coming in sideways! We got soaked.
This also meant that that the ice on the forest road was super slippery meaning Jan had a couple of falls, even at snail speed. We added in a couple of little extra pieces of trail, including a detour up to the top of Høvringberget which was certainly worth it, such a great trail, a perfect example of what I would consider ‘Norwegian trails’.
