Sunday meant that we went out on a bigger loop taking in 3 stages and about 25 miles, you start off with a rather large climb up to the top of Dunkery Beacon ready for the first stage.
Stage one was definitely the longest, it is pretty flat out but full of rocks with a good pedal in the middle and a few awkward turns, it is puncture alley for sure! Luckily I got down without and mistakes or punctures but with a few wild sections, loved it!
Stage two was quite short and with not much elevation drop but it was still fun none the less, you had to be on the pedals on every little bit to get a decent time, it was very twisty and up and down little holes through the trees with a couple of pretty fast sections. This was a one that if you had practiced it a little would have made a huge difference as you were never sure where the trail was going.
Stage three was much longer with a flat out section at the beginning into quite a sharp little climb which I think caught quite a lot of people out! It was then down through some new trails so was really loose and loamy in between the trees with one drop in it which was probably not the best to hit blind as there was a super heavy landing in a bit of a hole afterwards, then onto a super fast path that was cut into the hill and sort of followed the contours around the hill a little, this was a battle of confidence to just let the brakes go and hurtle to the line as if you went off the side you would not be stopping in a hurry as it was pretty steep, unless you hit a tree.
I think overall I ended up around 7th/8th place by comparing the times of the other guys around me in the stage that they screwed up my time in so pretty happy with that.
