Since I had ridden every day of the holidays so far I decided I would see if I could ride every day of the holidays until I started uni again, so this evenings ride was a short one up La Bastille and down La Vierge Noire, see how fast I could do it. I took the walkers route which winds its way up the hill from the city itself that most tourists take and then back down the well known Vierge Noire descent.
There were plenty of runners and walkers still about, who look at you as if you are crazy cycling up this path.
From La Bastille down below you can see one more little part of the fortifications up above on the next outcrop, I had never been to it, so decided to ride up to it and have a look, it certainly gives a good view of the city and the rest of La Bastille!
I turned round from here and headed back down La Vierge Noire at top speed, I know its a bit wankerish, but I thought I would see if I could get top spot on Strava, still not today…. but one day. I managed a 3rd spot on the ascent up but god knows how the two top guys got their time, they are a good 2m30 ahead of everyone else, speed demons!
